Condensed Matter Physics

Being a branch of Physics known as Condensed Matter Physics, which is the study of the properties, of solid-state materials, including their electronic properties. This technology is highly predictable, and through computer simulation, its electronic behaviour can be accurately predicted through detailed computer modelling. The 3-D simulations, at individual atom level, can now be used to create new nano-devices with which to address new products and application problems.

The transistor which was invented in 1948, led to the Integrated Circuit ( IC ) used to create the computers, which run the software simulations and computer tools, which allow this new research and development of new devices.
